About the play:
Nika is 12 years old and her parents are getting a divorce. Andrew is her classmate friend, and he has already experienced this with his parents who are fighting, divorcing and getting together all the time. Friendships that are born at that age will remain for a lifetime. Nika and Andrew will mark the closeness they have developed trying to figure out why people even make marriages, since as soon as you get married you already have the right to divorce yourself!
The play talks about the problem of divorce from a child’s perspective, which will soon not be children as they are approaching puberty, their worries, their secrets, and their aspirations to break away from their parents and become self-reliant. Besides all this, they have to deal with the problems and secrets of their parents. “Half-half” is produced as a co-production of three completely different theatres: Theater Company Pinklec, Theatre Exit and Theatre Poco Loco. Following the tradition of seeking strangeness, straightforwardness, cruelty and at the same time gentleness this play sends screaming through loud punk music a message: “LOVE!” The love that everyone needs and love as a salvation. The performance is intended for children 11+ years of age, those who have experienced the divorce of their parents, as well as those who have a friend who lives in the vicinity. This is a play for the parents, for the young, for the children, for all who live in the adult world, for the children who may need to grow too early, in one word for everyone, because every one of us has someone who like him/her regardless… Parents, grandma, grandfather or at least one friend who will sit with us at the cottage in the park and give us our grungy paper towel.
